Three, two, one … Party! And we’re off with a bang! The Cools held its first “New Geeks on the Block” event yesterday at Brinkley’s Bar at 406 Broome St. in Soho. We had hundreds of members from the start-up community, and other various institutions, come out to show their support and interest in tech, social media and — we’d like to hope — The Cools.   A few startups from the area pitched the crowd: Betterment, Boozbucks, Fitocracy, GroupMe, Skillshare, Zaarly— They had to follow a certain ritual while standing on a chair with a glass of Tequila.
