To celebrate Paris Fashion Week, The Cools hosted a party at Cirque Bonheur, which was arguably one of the best parties of fashion week. The festive crowd, including celebs P. Diddy and Cassie, watched behind the scenes footage of our soon-to-be launched site, while dancing all night to music by DJs Davide Squillace, Julio Santo Domingo & Nikko Gibler.

It was only last month that FMM named us along with Instagram , Stylmee and Buyosphere , as the “Hottest Tech for 2012 .” Recently, we were fortunate to make the list of “10 Fashion Tech Startups to Watch” by Fashionista.com; along with other great startups such as EditD & The Runthrough. Nicole Giordano is conflicted. She may not be ready to part with the 10 pairs of shoes she’s never worn just yet––but you know what they say, the first step is admitting there’s a problem…the solution? Selling her items on The Cools.

We Are The Cools: Meet Mara!
Mara Meinhofer, Operations and Finance Manager
What can’t you live without?
My BlackBerry, MacBook, Kindle and Bose headphones.
What are your favorite go-to blogs?
Business of Fashion (BoF). The founder Imran Amed, is a genius. BoF fills the void for analytical, informed, opinionated fashion. I say: ‘Bring It On!’
What’s currently on repeat on your playlist?
Experimental dance, electronica, Adele, Rock en Español, and very loud music that’s best to listen to while driving.
What’s your favorite thing about working at The Cools?
The team! They’re all SO COOL, it makes finance FUN.
Where do you look for inspiration?
People’s experiences. I enjoy forgetting the world as I know it, putting myself in other people’s shoes and getting inspired by their stories.
Finish this sentence:
In 10 years, I see myself… enjoying the successes of The Cools, advising/consulting new entrepreneurs, continue to work with fellow creatives to alleviate poverty (Creatives Against Poverty) and nurturing my loving family; husband and kids included. There you go, I said it––a husband and kids!

Maripol, the brainchild behind many of Madonna’s music videos (notably “Like a Virgin”), styled the Material Girl throughout her iconic career. Originally from France, the designer and stylist moved to New York at the young age of 19, and quickly became a part of the downtown music and club scene. By the mid-80’s, she opened her own boutique, Maripolitan, in New York’s NoHo neighborhood, and was the art director on music videos for Cher, D’Angelo and Elton John.
Available now, Maripol shares her latest project––a compilation of drawings, designs, photography and writing––in her latest book titled, “MARIPOL, Little Red Riding Hood.” All copies purchased on The Cools will be signed and dedicated by the author herself!
